At BMG we are aware of how scary it can be after having a stroke. You have spent a period of time in hospital recovering and now you're back home, wanting to do more for yourself and become more mobile. Here are some of the activities we can help you with.
Upper Limbs

Dressing
We can work with you to increase strength, co-ordination and general movement to allow you to be able to put on and take off clothing and shoes your self.

Eating & Drinking
We know how important eating and drinking is to us all. If you're struggling to cut up food, bring the fork to your mouth or drink from a mug then we can help develop these skills.

Using your phone
Using a phone is just one example of how we spend time and communicate. We can help you work on your co-ordination and strength to type, text and write.
Core

Sitting Independently
We know how frustrating it must be if you are struggling to sit up by yourself or can't quite reach over far enough for something. With personalised exercises, we can help to rebuild these skills and movements.

Balance
All forms of balance are vitally important to help us sit up, stand, walk and minimise falling over.

Getting in & out of bed
It can be exhausting getting in and out of bed. No one wants to start the day like that.

We can work on specific techniques, adaptions and exercises to make tasks that were once simple, easy once more.
Lower Limbs

Walking around the home
Being able to get around your own home is most peoples top priority. Having the independence to go where you want is always important. With our expertise we can aim to get you utilising your whole living space again.

Going outside
Unfortunately it is very common for our clients to tell us how they haven't left the home since leaving hospital.
Being outside has so many health benefits. We can work with you to make it happen again.

Climbing stairs
Climbing the stairs can seem like a daunting challenge, especially if you need to use stairs in an unfamiliar environment. We can work on your technique, strength and confidence to allow you to manage the stairs with ease.
