If you've recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's or have had it for a longer period of time, Physiotherapy is very important! We can work with you to increase your strength, improve your balance and aid your recovery if you've had a step back.
Daily Activities

Washing & Dressing
We can work with you to increase your energy levels, strength and co-ordination to allow you to be able to manage washing & dressing tasks. This could include using a shower or getting your trousers on.

Preparing a Meal
Cooking can be physically and mentally tiring. Having to stand for long periods of time, concentrating or multi-tasking is difficult. However, eating the right food is important, therefore we can support you to get back into the kitchen cooking your signature dish.

Fine Motor Skills
If you're struggling with your co-ordination and quality of movement, making it difficult to complete everyday tasks. We can support you through detailed exercise programs to regain these movements.
Getting Around

Walking and carrying items
It can be very difficult if you dont feel steady or strong enough to get around, whilst carrying food, drinks etc.
With strengthening and balance work we can aim to getting you back to safely moving items around.

Balance & Posture
Unfortunately a number of factors can impact on your balance alongside the Parkinson's. One concern, maybe your stiffness & posture. We can help to identify anything that is limiting your balance and work with you regularly improve this.

Movement Strategies
Are you struggling to get around? Maybe you're freezing in doorways or lacking in confidence to walk around by yourself.
We can go through strategies with you to tackle these problems, making your life much easier.
Recent Diagnosis

Falls Management
It can be very scary if you've had a fall or generally feel unsteady.
We can help you get stronger and more confident to reduce the risk of you falling. If it does unfortunately happen, we can go through techniques to get up safely.

Well-Being & Education
After a new diagnosis it can be very scary. We can support you to understand the symptoms and possible treatments. Helping you find the balance to do what still matters to you.

Keeping Active
Going out to the shops, a cafe or gym may feel like a lot. By breaking the overall aim into smaller goals can make it seem a lot less daunting. We can be with you ever step of the way to get you there.
